Every mom needs a “Mom Cave”– here’s mine!
Mom Cave update!
I’m carving out a little bit of space JUST for ME in the house, it’s still a work in progress, but wanted to give you all a sneak peek into my “Mom Cave”
This just a teeny, tiny little nook off of the upstairs hallway in my house. The chair and ottoman was relocated from our master bedroom, it was purchased at the Bloomingdale’s furniture outlet over 10 years ago for under $200 for the set. The plant stand next to the chair was from my parents’ house, they bought it at some point in the late 1960s or early 1970s. The large painting as well as the aqua pillow were both purchased recently at HomeGoods. The smaller, brown pillow is from an Etsy seller (bought using a Heartsy voucher!) The large storage piece was a thrift store find and it’s SOLID wood– it was regularly $399 (at the thrift store!) but I snagged it when the store had a 50% off sale, so it was only $199(!) and it’s absolutely gorgeous with TONS of storage and even a flip down desk in the center. The artwork, cork boards and chalkboard are also recent HomeGoods finds. Oh, and the flooring was snagged on massive clearance at Lowe’s and installed by my father and husband.
It’s still has a little ways to go before it’s done, I need a small round rug and I’m thinking that I ‘need’ a chandelier installed over my chair, too!– but I’m loving having a little oasis of quiet all for me, especially when the entire area cost me WAY under $500– well worth the sanity that it provides, don’tcha think?
