Apple Dumplings

These are ridiculously easy– and SO yummy! No one will ever believe you that you used store bought crescent rolls– so don’t tell them!

Ingredients:

- 2 Granny Smith apples (peeled, cored and cut into 8 sections each– use an apple corer if you have one)
- 2 cans of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
- 1 stick of butter
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- cinnamon to taste

Preheat oven to 350*

Wrap each section of apple with a crescent roll– and place into a lightly greased casserole dish leaving some space around each dumpling to allow for the dough to rise and expand.

Melt one stick of butter either in the microwave or on the stovetop– add sugar and vanilla extract
to the butter, barely stir (you want it a bit lumpy!)– pour butter mixture over apple dumplings and sprinkle dumplings with cinnamon or even a cinnamon/sugar mixture.

Bake until golden brown and crispy on top– approximately 20 minutes. Serve warm and spoon the sauce over each dumpling– fabulous over ice cream or by themselves.

Enjoy!
